Strawberry Farm

Emily loves strawberries so she was like a duck in water seeing all those fresh berries.

Beautiful pigtails, crisp white collar, sweet embellished overalls, and.... oh yeah she's daddy's girl, dirty, muddy little shoes. :D He didn't think twice about letting her stomp in the puddles. That's what daddy's are for, right?

Cool tree frog we found. Em immediately tried to pic him up.

AJ was hot and bored but he helped pick alot of the 5lbs of strawberries we ended up with.

She was stuffing strawberries in her mouth as soon as we paid for them. She LOVES strawberries almost as much as apples and bananas.

Rodeo Pics

Yup my son as a hog on a hog. :)

Farmer Emily

Yes they can be cute!

The kids spent nearly 30min in the petting zoo.

New for the Rodeo this year is seeing brand new baby animals. They have pregnant cows, pigs, and lambs all ready to go. Waaaay up high they had videos of all kinds of farm animals birthing. We had to answer some questions we really weren't ready for yet. lol

As always the Rodeo was fun but totally exhausting! There were a couple of new things that really got the kids attention. I loved AJ and Emily in their matching overalls.

Supergirl!

I have SO many pics to share from March... and never enough time to upload them all. I'll start with this dress that Christina of Punk Rock Padding made for Emily. She actually made quite a few dresses and skirts for her. Alex, of course, loves this dress. Em calls it the daddy dress. lol Christina also makes all kinds of amazing stuff including maternity tops! Stay tuned for Rodeo pics, Strawberry Farm trip, trips to the park, in-laws, and the beach. (Yup it's been a busy month.)

Quick update

Ah, it's that time again... a quick update. AJ is currently into any video game he can get his hands on. @@ Emily is still just Emily. She loves Dora, music, and fruit. Pretty much in that order. Dolls still rank up there but watching Dora while dancing and eating an apple is the IT thing. lol Here's some pics of the kids...

Valentine's Day

A little late but at least I did it! Valentine's Day was busy like any other day. Alex and I dropped the kids off at mom's and went to the movies. (So nice to able to leave them now!) Then we picked them up and just hung out at home all day. Alex barbecued spare ribs while I made an awesome dessert. Chocolate chip cookie brownie with dark chocolate ganache topping. OMG We seriously all just took forks to that pan. lol It was really good. Then we watched more Dr. Who while we ate dinner. Just a normal day around here. lol Here's the few pics I remembered to catch.
Yeah, yeah they are cute.

Their little goodies. I got the bags from a store on Etsy.com Wonderfully made and perfect for little things.

Painting!

Yes, I got up the guts to let the kids paint. AJ and a friend did a bunch. They were ready to go play with trains by the time I got the camera ready. So I let Emily have a turn....

So excited to fingerpaint for the 1st time.

Ewwwww!

Ok, so this is kinda fun....

Rainbow hands!

Evening at the Park

We decided to hit the park last weekend. It was kinda chilly so don't mind my mismatched kids. lol
She can totally climb stuff all by herself. And don't try to help, she'll just get mad.

My big boy

Daddy was totally freaked out by her wanting to do this but she was desperate to try. She LOVES daring stunts.

She LOVES slides! If we're driving and she see's one, she begs to stop and play.

Love this picture!

My 2 little frozen popsicles. They don't handle the cold very well. lol

It's already February????

Where did the time go? AJ is almost finished with the K4 Abeka book. We're taking a week's break and then jumping straight into K5. It should be mostly review for him but I don't want to jump straight into 1st grade with just K4 under his belt. He's really started to pick up the reading now. He needs some prompts and reminders but I'm happy with the progress he's made from Sept 08 to Feb 09. Never thought we'd get this far! He's having NO trouble with addition but he does not like the teen numbers.
Emily is still Emily. She's obssessed with Dora. Everything Dora must be hers. @@ Makes it hard to shop with her now. lol Everyone in the Target baby department knew she was a Dora fan by the time we left. She's just LOUD! No idea where she gets that from. ;) She is still into Mamma Mia as well but at least Dora tempers that a bit. She talks pretty much non-stop now. Tons more words, phrases, and now she can almost dress herself. (Darn cloth diaper keeps her from pulling pants over her butt.)
ROFL.... dh just said that Emily managed to unzip her sleeper a bit, rubbed some of my deododarant under her arms and then couldn't get her arms back in. My baby smells baby powder fresh now. :X
She's still nursing A TON. No telling when she'll quit but I'm cool with it... for now. She still doesn't have much interest in the potty. She's my last baby for the moment so I'm not pushing her yet. I can't believe she will be 3 this summer.

And the words flow... she can point to most of the big body parts and now she's saying hair, eye, ears, nose, and teeth! This is all so cool for me since AJ wasn't this verbal at 2.5y. It's amazing how well she can communicate. I think she's getting sick. :( AJ must be growing again b/c he keeps complaining of his legs hurting. He's about due for a growth spurt! AJ's getting better at the reading and now he's starting to make sentences. I hope he continues to make good progess!

New words...

Emily's newest-- Wait for meeee! Hold on. Stop that now! Let it go. That's MIIIIIIIIIIIINE! me Me ME ME! <--- that means either I want it or she's seen a picture of herself. lol Orange, strawberry, milk, and juice are all attempted. She's coming surprisingly close on those now. She also says Sessa for Vanessa. I get lots of "I want --- " phrases now too.
AJ is driving me insane! We started reading 2 vowel words like "made". He gets it totally but he has SO much trouble counting to 100! I don't get it but whatever. At least he's getting something in. He really likes science stuff now. Constantly wanting to do some experiment or other. I can't believe he's 6.5 now. Emily is almost 2.5y. My babies are getting so big!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Birthdays are a big deal around here. It's a celebration of one more year survived. :) The first is Alex's on Jan. 9th. I know as adults, we shouldn't go all out but... you only get to be 33 once. Soooo we have fun!

Daddy and his kids. I should post a pic of the kids from the last few years....

----Memories break----
2004- AJ is 2y. Look how light his hair was!

2007- AJ is 5.5y and Emily is 5m. LOL at her little pig tails. :X

So back to this weekend.... Emily was all into ripping open Alex's gifts for him.

The kids drew all over the wrapping. AJ wrote out HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY

And yeah.. he's spoiled rotten. :)

Pictures

OK, just cuz I want to post pics. :) They fall asleep on this little sofa all the time. Cracks me up how Em sleeps. lol

Yes, I do have fun dressing her....

Yes, yes I know, WAAAAY late but better late than never, right? I get the feeling this year is going to be even busier than last year. Emily is really growing and changing. She just might skip out of alot of her 18m clothes. She's really getting talkative now....
AJ: (poking his sister)
Em: You 'urt me!
AJ: No I didn't!
Em: YES YOU DID!!!!
Yup life is going to be SO much fun. :P
This year's goals...
--Make AJ read whenever possible.
--Get Emily to quit all the whining.
--Teach the dogs some real usable commands.
--Lose this 50lbs I've put on over the years.
We've got a wedding to attend in May so I have a real goal for getting rid of the exess. I'll just cross my fingers on the rest.
